LCSD1 Everyone Can Create with iPads Online Course

Course Dates: June 9, 2021 - July 20, 2021

Attendance: Participants will be required to check course announcements and complete all assignments.

Intended Audience: Laramie County School District #1 certified staff

Location: Online

Course Description:

Participants taking this online course will expand on the techniques they learned while obtaining their Apple Teacher certification. The course is designed to help educators integrate creative skills into the topics and subjects they teach every day. They will learn how to teach their students how to express themselves through drawing, music, video, and photo. They will learn how to deepen student learning through real-world engagement, communication and creation, teamwork, critical thinking, and personalized learning. 

This course will be completely online, facilitated through the learning management system, Canvas. Participants must have an iPad to participate.

Course Objectives:

Using the iPad:

    • I can integrate creative skills into the content I teach every day.
    • I can teach my students how to express themselves through drawing, music, video, and photo.
    • I can deepen student learning through real-world engagement, communication & creation, teamwork, critical thinking, and personalized learning.

Materials:

  • Materials required for this course can be found within the Canvas course.
  • Everyone Can Create Learning Guides and supplemental books provided by instructors
  • iPad
  • Internet access

Course Requirements:

Participants are required to participate in all modules, which includes checking course announcements and completing all assignments.  They must choose one activity from each chapter element and submit work examples of their creations. They will be required to turn in a lesson idea where they adjust a current lesson they are teaching and adapt it so that it integrates each creative skill they learned about, including the standards covered in the lesson and the element of learning covered in the lesson (Communication & Creation, Personalization of Learning, Real-World Engagement, Teamwork, Critical Thinking). They will include a rubric and notes on how they will assess their creation along with a reflection.

In case of emergency, the instructor must be notified.  Assignments must be turned by the last day of class.
